How Many alphabets do English Language has ?

Such a common question in early days of our academic life. We always had the answer to it. 26, we all used to shout.

But is it true ?

Lets check the defination of word "alphabet" . Alphabet is defined as : an ordered set of letters or symbols used to represent the basic speech sounds of a language.

Now tell me , do we have 26 alphabets in English or 1 alphabet and 26 symbols ?
