IE7 Menu ? Really Gone ??

Has MS done away with the Menu bar in its latest version of IE 7 ?? Well , the first impression suggests it has, but not really. Its in fact hidden, and you can invoke it any time by pressing the [ALT] key.
Now why MS went for this change and whether this improves the UI will be a question of debate am least interested in putting my head in.
